Intel präsentiert 2 neue Atom Prozessoren basierend auf der MID Plattform Moorestown.
Während einer Keynote Chadrasekher zeigte zum ersten mal die next generation Atom basierende MID Plattform "Moorestown"
Die Moorestown Plattform verbraucht laut Intel 10 mal weniger Energie als die heutige Atom basierenden Systeme. Dies wurde erreicht durch ein neues Power Management, und duch den Intel Hi-k 45 nm Herstellungsprozess.
Intel zeigte wie gesagt auch neue Intel Atom Prozessoren, den Z550 und den Z515.
Der Intel Atom Z550 wird mit 2 Gigahertz getaktet und unterstützt die Intel Hyperthreading Technologie. Der Z550 liegt mit unter 3 Watt betrieben. Der Z515 wird mit 1.2 Gigahertz betrieben.
Intel also announced two new Atom processors for MIDs: the Z550 and Z515. The Z550 extends the performance of the MID product line to 2GHz with Intel Hyperthreading technology support, setting a new standard for the highest performance processor in the under-3-watt power envelope. The Z515 incorporates the new Intel® Burst Performance Technology (Intel BPT), which enables the processor to run at 1.2GHz when performance is needed in existing small and sleek MID form factors.
